Russell Coates is a ceramic artist living in Somerset, south west England.
Russell's unique style is influenced by Kutani Ware that he studied in Japan, and family
holidays in Britain. He uses natural forms of birds, plants, animals and sea-life from
African and American art. These forms including Hoopoes, deer and dolphins, combine to
create beautiful designs depicting the natural world themes of sea, land and sky.
In a recent article published in CPA news, Russell talks more about his background and life as a potter, click on the image to read the article in full.
